FAULTLINE welcomes submissions of previously unpublished poetry, fiction, and translations. We read work submitted between October 15th and December 15th. Submissions received at any other time will not be read. To become familiar with work previously published by FAULTLINE, we suggest visiting our Buy page to order an issue. You can also view the most recent edition of FAULTLINE online here.
As a small, student-run publication, unfortunately we are unable to pay contributors at this time.
General guidelines:
- Poetry: up to five poems.
- Fiction: up to twenty pages double-spaced (one story).
- Translation: up to five poems and up to twenty pages double-spaced (one story) for fiction, and a brief translator's note. See submission page for more detailed guidelines.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please withdraw your submission immediately if accepted elsewhere. If you need to make a partial withdrawal (for instance, one poem out of five has been accepted elsewhere), please notify us by sending a message through Submittable (or email us if you submitted between 12/14 and 12/15).
Poetry submission guidelines:
- Please submit up to five poems, all in one document, with each poem beginning on a new page
- We are particularly interested in reading prose poetry, works in translation, and documentary poetry, but all forms and styles are welcome.
- We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
*We have subs capped at 150 for the period from Dec 1 - Dec 15th, 2023. Once the cap is reached, submissions for this volume will close for the final time. We suggest getting your work in as soon as possible. Thank you.
